Celebration of the Arabian Horse
Dubai's second public art project featured the Arabian horse, a revered animal of desert cultures.
ARTWORKS designed and realized this project for Dubai which, like all of the Desert Trilogy series, culminated in a major auction led by Christie's of London. Proceeds of all three auctions went to children's charities. Godolphin, the ruling family's world renowned racing stable, was the major sponsor for this project. They were joined by many other local and international corporate sponsors. Starr Liana York, a highly respected Southwestern artist, sculpted the beautiful Arabian horse model for the project.
